Russell Stover Candy Outlet ~ Kodak TN (Smokey Mountains)

As you are headed toward the Smokey Mountains on Interstate 40, you will begin to see the signs for the Russell Stover Candy Outlet store. We had passed them for years, and finally had to stop in and see what all the fuss is about.

First of all, it is Exit 407 off Interstate 40. This is the exit for Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains. Bass Pro is on one side of the interstate and chocolate is on the other!

We popped in to the Russell Stover Outlet on the way down to Knoxville, knowing we would be doing a thorough LivingHistorySites.com tour of the Smokey Mountains this summer. Look for that coming to LHS in 2009!

Inside the store, there is candy galore! Boxes and boxes of candy were everywhere, all of your Russell Stover favorites, along with Whitmans, Jelly Bellies and more. Boxes of candy piled to the ceiling, holiday candy and sweet treats lined the aisles.

They have a table in the center with samples. We were able to try Jelly Bellies, and sugar free chocolate turtles. I was a little dissapointed in the chocolate sample selection, the day we were there the table just looked dirty and picked over. I guess I was secretly hoping it would be more like See's Candy, with big glassed in collections of candy, very sterile and clean. At See's, you can pick the actual candy you want to purchase, and get as many of each variety as you want. The Russell Stover Outlet never claimed to be See's, but in my yearning for my favorite candy store back home, this was the hope!

A special outlet section in an area below was bursting with candy from the season that had just passed, Christmas and Valentines Day candy at deeply discounted prices.

It is certainly worth stopping by for some candy bargains if you are in the Great Smokey Mountain area....and tell them LivingHistorySites.com sent you.
